## What Rafy Does

Rafy solves a common problem for actors: preparing and recording audition self-tapes typically requires another person to read the scene partner's lines. Rafy eliminates this dependency by providing an AI-powered virtual reader that speaks the other character's lines while displaying your lines on a teleprompter. The app listens to you via voice recognition and automatically advances through the scene.

### Core Workflow

1. **Upload a Script**: Upload a PDF of your audition sides or script. Rafy uses OCR to extract and parse the dialogue automatically.
2. **Edit & Assign Lines**: Review the extracted dialogue. Assign lines to your character or the reader. Set timers, pauses, and voice preferences for each line.
3. **Choose Reader Voices**: Select from a library of AI voices (powered by ElevenLabs) for your scene partner's lines. Each character can have a different voice.
4. **Rehearse**: Practice your scene with the virtual reader. The teleprompter displays one line at a time and advances automatically using voice recognition when you finish speaking.
5. **Record**: When ready, record a professional self-tape. The teleprompter overlays on your camera feed so you can read lines while recording.

### Virtual Scene Reader
- AI voices read your scene partner's lines using ElevenLabs text-to-speech
- Multiple voice options with different characteristics
- Each character in the scene can be assigned a unique voice

### Smart Teleprompter
- Displays one dialogue line at a time
- Voice recognition listens to the actor and detects when they've finished a line

- Longer dialogues match the last 3 words spoken
- 1.8-second timeout after speech stops before advancing
- Timer system prevents early advancement when dramatic pauses are set

### Timer & Pacing System
- Set per-line timers for dramatic pauses between lines
- Audio dialogue timers: dropdown with 0.5 to 20 seconds in 0.5-second increments
- User dialogue timers: manual input or chronometer recording for precise timing
- Timers take priority over voice recognition — if a timer is active, speaking won't advance the scene early
- Format: "MM:SS" or "MM:SS.MS" for millisecond precision
